The city of Meerut is deeply rooted in the history of North India. Situated in the western part of Uttar Pradesh, this town began as a part of the Hastinapur Empire. It was ruled by the Kauravas, who had a significant role in Mahabharata. Considered as one of the fastest growing city in Uttar Pradesh, it is located 56 km to the northeast of Delhi which the capital city state of India. Meerut is the largest producer of sports equipment and is also known as the Sports city of India.
